U.N.-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan plans to return to Damascus in coming weeks, his spokesman said Tuesday. But the trip will depend on events in Syria, where Annan is trying to convince President Bashar al-Assad to implement a peace plan, Annan’s spokesman Ahmed Fawzi told AFP.
